Great Hunts this Week - Aoudad, Elk and more...

We had some great hunts last weekend....2 clients from St. Francisville, La visited us on Saturday and took these great looking 6x5 Elk Bulls. They also bagged a few rams as well, one with a bow!

Then on Monday night, a client from Pennsylvania shot this Monster Aoudad Ram right at dusk...we searched for him for about an hour with no success, but we all knew he was hit good, so we resumed our search the next morning, and he was only about 30 yards from the impact spot when we found him

We have 4 more hunters arriving today, so stay tuned for some new hunt photos early next week. Big Elk and Big Stag should be hitting the ground again!

Elk roaming the Ranch

We have some Big Elk roaming the ranches these days. This one should go about 435 Boone and Crockett... he looks to be a 8x9 with large 11 inch bases

Texas Youth Hunt this weekend!

Texas Youth Hunt is hosting (4) local disadvantaged youth on a hunt this weekend. The Hunt begins tomorrow at the Texas Hunt Lodge with Hunters Certification, and then at the Las Catarinas Ranch on Saturday and Sunday where the kids will learn Hunt Safety, Animal Education, how to track animals, learn to shoot rifles, and hopefully harvest their first animal on a live hunt.

A World Record for the Owner

In my first year of the hunting industry, I think I've personally guided hunters on 9-12 World Record Hunts, and last Friday, I finally got my own, but not intentionally.

I was guiding some hunters out on Las Catarinas Ranch last weekend, when one of the ranch staff called me to say there was a hurt Scimitar Horned Oryx that had just crawled up to a water hole. Recent Exotic Hunts

We've had a very busy month at the Texas Hunt Lodge and some great trophies have been taken, even by myself.

We had Mr. Riggle back out last week, and he took an awesome Gold Medal Red Stag and the largest White Fallow Buck I've ever seen.

More New Record Hunts

Mr. Bentin and his Father, from Peru, hunted with us earlier this week and took some fantastic trophies. On Monday morning, we hunted Las Catarinas Ranch in West Kerr County, and Pedro Bentin dropped this beautiful 412 B&C Elk Bull using my TIKA 300 win mag. The Bull didn't even take a step after the shot....perfect placement

World Record Axis Deer Hunt

Mr. Pat Vivas from Hawaii visited us again for the 2nd time this month, and this time took some True World Record Class Trophies.

This Axis Buck has 10 scorable points and is the #1 Axis taken in since 2007, and the new #11 SCI World Record of all time.

We spotted this Monster around 6:30pm yesterday on a 700 acre ranch near Ingram, TX. Pat dropped him with his .378 rifle at 140 yards.

Later on in the evening, we took Pat on a Hog Dog Hunt and again, had the opportunity for a Monster Trophy Boar. The dogs were amazing and located the Hog in a matter of 15 minutes from where we started. Within 20 minutes, we had Pat taking this 250 lb hog down with a 7 inch Marine-issue knife.
