Mr. Bentin and his Father, from Peru, hunted with us earlier this week and took some fantastic trophies.  On Monday morning, we hunted Las Catarinas Ranch in West Kerr County, and Pedro Bentin dropped this beautiful 412 B&C Elk Bull using my TIKA 300 win mag.  The Bull didn't even take a step after the shot....perfect placement

Mr. Pat Vivas from Hawaii visited us again for the 2nd time this month, and this time took some True World Record Class Trophies.

This Axis Buck has 10 scorable points and is the #1 Axis taken in since 2007, and the new #11 SCI World Record of all time. 



We spotted this Monster around 6:30pm yesterday on a 700 acre ranch near Ingram, TX.  Pat dropped him with his .378 rifle at 140 yards. 


Later on in the evening, we took Pat on a Hog Dog Hunt and again, had the opportunity for a Monster Trophy Boar.  The dogs were amazing and located the Hog in a matter of 15 minutes from where we started.  Within 20 minutes, we had Pat taking this 250 lb hog down with a 7 inch Marine-issue knife.

Yesterday, we took (2) really nice Fallow Bucks off of Las Catarinas Ranch.  One of them has scored #12 all time in the world ever taken and is currently and should hold on to be the #1 Fallow Buck of the year.

TPW Commission Authorizes Crossbows for Early Archery Season

AUSTIN, Texas — In preparation for implementation of new legislation, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission has adopted rules allowing hunters to use crossbows during the upcoming special archery-only hunting season and authorizing persons with documented physical disabilities to use laser sighting devices.

Currently, crossbows cannot be used during an archery-only season except by persons with an upper-limb disability. Recent legislative action gave authority to   the Commission to allow any person, regardless of physical ability, to use a crossbow during the archery-only season, provided the person has acquired an archery stamp and ...<< MORE >>

Mr. Vivas, from the island of Hawaii, came out to Las Catarinas this past week and took (2) Monster Axis Bucks.  His first was shot from 165 yards.  The old Axis buck measured 36 inch main beams on one side and 34.5 inches on the other.  Nice Gold Medal Axis Deer

Mr. Riggle from Alvin, Texas hunted with us this week, and took a new #1 for the year animal.  This Nubian Ibex measured over 45.5 inches in lenght on one side.  This Nubian Ibex is the largest taken since 1983, and the 2nd largest ever recorded in the record books.  This is Texas Hunt Lodges' 10th #1 of the year.

We had (4) more hunters arrive Sunday morning from Spring, Texas.  We hunted for about 12 hours and took four great trophies.

Man, we had a big weekend at Texas Hunt Lodge.  We hosted 5 hunters on Saturday from Midland....they were only with us for 1/2 day, but they cleaned up. 

Our First Hunter, Frank 11, from Midland, landed this monster Water Buffalo...what a trophy.
